Take Control with Positive Thinking

You know, sometimes we get all flustered by the bumps on the road and the overwhelming amount of information available for us to run our business. In doing so, we might start to develop ‘negative thinking patterns’. But this actually makes it harder for us to deal with those bumps on the road, confront challenges and manage our time effectively.

And so you must focus and practice positive thinking. Focusing on your accomplishments and strengths will increase your feelings of happiness and provide you with the motivation we all need to keep moving forward. Positive thinking allows you to make progress and spend less time feeling down or stuck.

Here are 10 ideas for you to shift into more positive thinking:

1. Remember your WHY
The so called obstacles we come across are not as big when you regularly remind yourself of WHY you are doing what you’re doing. Set aside minute or two to reflect on your accomplishments and remember the positive changes you will make in your life as you move forward.

2. Eat Well, Exercise and Rest
You may have given it little thought, but taking good care of yourself by eating well, exercising ng and getting enough rest makes it easier to be positive.

3. Avoid Using Absolutes
‘I Always…” ‘I Never…’  ‘I Can’t…’- Sometimes I catch myself using these phrases. Thinking and speaking in absolutes actually programs your brain into believing you’re not capable of delivering so try to avoid these.

4. Don’t Make Assumptions
Often our fears leads us to assume we know what other people are thinking. Speak up and confront situations when things go wrong. Assuming and worrying about difficult situations only increases negative thinking.

5. Cut Off Negative Thoughts
When you catch yourself in the midst of a negative thought, disengage from it – observe, and don’t follow the negative thought. They cannot hold power over you if you don’s judge them.

6. Step on the “ANTs”
Automatic Negative Thoughts. Those are the ones that are typically reactionary. For example “oh, the group of people over there are giggling, they must be making fun or talking about me” or “The CEO wants to speak to me? It must be bad”. Realize when you start having these thoughts. They are nothing but ANTs. Crush them!

7. Become More Social
You decrease loneliness when you increase your social activity. Get around healthy, happy people. Positive energy is contagious!

8. A Little TLC with Friends and Family
A good hug always feels good! Practice some touchin’ and squeezin’ with your friends and family. Positive physical contact with loved ones is an immediate pick-me-up! It even works with your pet!

9. Give Back, Help Out
Give back your time, money, etc. Philanthropy makes everyone feels good. I know I feel really good after helping someone. Try it more often. The more you give – The more positive energy you let out into this earth, the more you will get!

10. Interrupt Negative Hyper-Focus
If you find that you’re focusing on something negative, an awesome technique to stop the negative focus is to interrupt the thoughts and do something entirely different. Get yourself up and go for a walk. Call someone and talk about something different. Play some music. You get the idea!

In Internet and network marketing, you know the right mindset is key. The proper mindset has a direct impact on our productivity. Negative thoughts can affect your mindset, so you’ve got to get in the habit of positive thinking. If you find that negative thoughts creep into your mind from time to time, use some of the 10 techniques above to stop them in their tracks!
